L’opera nasce dalla necessità di comunicare il cambiamento e la perdita sempre più evidente della natura che ci circonda. Ho scelto la montagna, fragile e maestosa, paesaggio della Val Ferret colpita dalla frana nell’estate del 2022 come simbolo di un cambiamento sempre più drammatico. La transitorietà è insita nella natura; i fattori naturali che trasformano e cambiano il paesaggio sono caratterizzati da forze endogene ed esogene ma le attività umane che, da sempre, lo modificano hanno nei secoli causato gravi danni, alterando e distruggendo molti ambienti naturali. La distruzione è in atto e la bellezza intorno a noi è fortemente a rischio. L’opera è caratterizzata dalla sequenza di tre immagini: contrasto tra bellezza e buio, reale e non reale, presente e non ancora futuro; presenza e sottrazione. La sequenza è un invito a riflettere sulla distruzione in atto e sull’urgenza di un cambiamento come azione necessaria e ancora possibile.

The work was born out of the need to communicate the increasingly evident change and loss of nature that surrounds us. I chose the mountain, fragile and majestic, landscape of Val Ferret affected by the landslide in the summer of 2022 as a symbol of an increasingly dramatic change. Transience is inherent in nature; the natural factors that transform and change the landscape are characterised by endogenous and exogenous forces, but the human activities that have always modified it have over the centuries caused serious damage, altering and destroying many natural environments. Destruction is taking place and the beauty around us is at great risk. The work is characterised by the sequence of three images: contrast between beauty and darkness, real and not real, present and not yet future; presence and subtraction. The sequence is an invitation to reflect on the destruction taking place and the urgency of change as a necessary and still possible action.
